PS5 India Launch – Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition Release Date Delayed

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition for PlayStation 5 is skipping the console’s India launch. With PS5 pre-orders beginning this week and a February 2, 2021 release date to follow, retailers such as the Sony-affiliated ShopAtSC have begun listing what would make it time for launch. Sony’s online store did not list the game, suggesting it won’t be available on disc.

Multiple game stores in the country speaking to IGN India on condition of anonymity have confirmed the same. What’s more is, this appears to be a last minute decision from Sony as up until a week ago, it was scheduled to make it to India in time for the PS5 release date, sources familiar with Sony’s plans tell us.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition PS5 includes Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for Rs. 4,999. Considering the 2018 PS4 release of Spider-Man was one of Sony’s biggest-selling games of the generation in India, it’s odd that Indian fans aren’t treated as well as those in other countries. And this isn’t the first time either.

Back in 2018, the Spider-Man PS4 Special Edition was cancelled after it was delayed while the Spider-Man Collector’s Edition was also delayed and finally made it nearly two months later. To make matters worse, Sony went back on its word regarding that game’s pre-order bonuses too.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition PS5 appears to suffer from the same fate with no concrete release date at the moment. This brings the available PS5 games at launch from Sony down to three.

PS5 India launch: confirmed games and prices

  • Demon’s Souls – Rs. 4,999
  • Sackboy A Big Adventure – Rs. 3,999
  • Spider-Man: Miles Morales – Rs. 3,999

While we’re yet to receive any confirmation on third-party games, safe to say Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, and Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate should be available on the PS5 at retail around launch as well.

We have reached out to Sony India for comment last week and are yet to receive a reply at the time of publishing this story. If we hear from the company we will update this story accordingly.
