McKinney officials will hold an informational event later this month where residents can learn more about redevelopment projects planned for the eastern part of the city.
The come-and-go event on March 18 will serve as an introduction to the East McKinney Redevelopment and Preservation projects. It will begin at 5:15 p.m. at the Old Settler’s Recreation Center outdoor pavilion, at 1201 E. Louisiana St.
Following a presentation, informational tables will be set up so that residents can obtain more information on the various projects.
“Preserving our existing neighborhoods, their culture and characteristics, helps make McKinney unique by nature,” city officials said a news release. “Part of preserving those neighborhoods means maintaining their infrastructure, maintaining and creating new public facilities, and expanding business opportunities so that they can continue to thrive.”
City officials want to make sure east side residents are able to give feedback, with staff set to continue seeking community input and having dialogue through public meetings in the community, the city’s website and online surveys, according to the release. Officials recently released a survey to gather information about resident’s priorities in the area of the projects.
Masks are required to attend the open house, which will be held outdoors.
