HANOVER — The Upper Valley Land Trust is restarting its Lunch and Learn Series on Thursday.

This year, it’ll take place online instead of at the Enfield Community Building.

The first program, titled “Introduction to Forestry with Ehrhard Frost” begins at noon, and people can register at uvlt.org or email programs director Alison Marchione at [email protected].

The program will begin with a prerecorded tour of Thetford’s Frost Forest. Afterward, participants can ask Frost questions.

“That one is really meant to get people thinking about their own land or how to create habitat for wildlife,” Marchione said.

If people cannot make the live event, a recording will be available later on at uvlt.org.

On March 18, Dartmouth College professors Meredith Kelly and Ed Meyer will discuss research done by their classes at Enfield’s Smith Pond in “The Geology and Sediments of Smith Pond and What They Tell Us.”

“Using iNaturalist to Rediscover Lost Species” is the topic of April 15’s program, and attendees will learn how to use the iNaturalist app to identify creatures in their communities.

Also this winter, the UVLT has teamed up with the Norwich Recreation Department to groom and light the trails at Brookmead Conservation Area for cross country skiing from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 20 and 27. The first event, held last Saturday, was successful, Marchione said. People must register ahead of time at norwichvt.myrec.com. Tickets cost $15 for Norwich residents and $20 for those who live outside of town.
