Turkey Scramble gets the community moving

Students at the university teamed up with the La Crosse Parks and Recreation Department to provide fun hybrid event for families

LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – With classes online, some UWL students are still creating active events for the community.

Students at the university teamed up with the La Crosse Parks and Recreation Department to provide fun hybrid event for families.

The Turkey Scramble is a socially distanced scavenger hunt with activities and take home crafts.

Local businesses and sponsors also donated prizes that kids can win in the raffle tomorrow.

As people are suffering from COVID fatigue outdoor events can relieve a lot of stress.

“We wanted to make an event that would get people out of their house. As us for students, a lot of our classes are online and its just hard to be stuck at home, so we wanted to plan something that would get kids outside,” said Kjersten Kleveland, a Recreation Management student and UWL.

The event will continue tomorrow at Myrick Park.
