Ruben’s Row

The Surprise Stadium, in honor of Mark A. Coronado and his father, we have been able to share the experience of our traditions through the Ruben’s Row seating program.

Mark A. Coronado, was a remarkable leader recognized for his commitment and dedication to the residents of Surprise. Serving as Community and Recreation Services Director from 2000 until his death in 2018, Mark A. Coronado through his determination made a tremendous impact towards the progressive recreational development in the City of Surprise.

In his formative years, Mark developed his passion for playing the game he loved, the game that would define his legacy, baseball. Early in his parks and recreation career he gained the experience and momentum necessary to begin work towards making the dream of the Surprise Recreation Campus a reality. Shortly thereafter, Surprise, Arizona became a baseball fan destination through his efforts in bringing the Texas Rangers and the Kansas City Royals to their new spring training development home in Surprise. His vision will live on through the City of Surprise and its community traditions.
