Six Flags: Here’s when you can start making reservations for 2021 season

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Ready to plan a trip to Six Flags for the 2021 season? Be sure to make a reservation first.

Six Flags is preparing to open its Jackson, N.J., theme park and wild safari adventure next month, with plans to open its waterpark in May. But before you visit, you’ll have to use the online reservation system, which will be used to manage attendance, schedule guests for entry by day, and stagger arrival times to minimize proximity exposure.

All members, season pass holders, and all guests with a single-day or group ticket will need to make a reservation at https://www.sixflags.com/reserve. Guests who need single-day tickets will be able to reserve during the purchase process.

Guests will enter their online order number, ticket number, or membership/season pass number, select the day and approximate time they want to visit, acknowledge their understanding of the company’s health policy, order pre-paid parking if needed, and watch a brief video describing new social distancing and sanitization procedures.

Reservations will open on different dates for Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Wild Safari Drive-Thru Adventure, and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.

Six Flags Great Adventure will open for the season on Saturday, March 27. Park reservations will launch at noon on Tuesday, March 16.

The park will shatter three world records when it debuts its coaster of legendary proportions this summer — the tallest, fastest and longest single-rail coaster, the Jersey Devil Coaster.

The coaster will tower 13 stories and reach speeds up to 58 miles per hour as riders soar through the dark and foreboding woods along 3,000 feet of track. It’s inspired by infamous New Jersey folklore, and will feature five intense elements, including three dramatic inversions.

Last month, the coaster had its final track piece placed — which marked the completion of track construction on the highly-anticipated scream machine.

The Six Flags Wild Safari Drive-Thru Adventure will open to the public on Saturday, March 20. Reservations will launch at noon on Tuesday, March 9.

According to Six Flags, it’s the world’s largest drive-thru outside of Africa. It will be a contact-free, self-guided animal experience in which guests can learn about 1,200 animals from around the globe by streaming a custom audio tour along their 4.5-mile journey.

Most animals are free-roaming and can walk right up to the guests’ vehicle. The 350-acre preserve will debut a plethora of baby animals as well, including bison calves, Asian water buffalo and kangaroo joeys.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor will open for the 2021 season on Saturday, May 15. Reservations for the waterpark will launch Tuesday, May 4, at noon.

This tropically-themed oasis will offer cool refreshment for the entire family with more than 20 high-speed thrill slides, a half-mile lazy river, two massive pools and two interactive kids’ areas.

GET A JOB AT SIX FLAGS

And if you need a job, you can apply to work at Six Flags. The parks will offer positions in more than 10 diverse departments.

Great Adventure, Wild Safari, and Hurricane Harbor will raise the wages of many positions for the 2021 season, it was announced on Thursday.

“Many positions will now pay $15 per hour, which is a $4 per hour increase, and leadership positions will pay even more. We want to recruit team members who will maintain our high standards of safety and guest service, and it’s crucial that we offer competitive wages to attract and retain these top employees,” said Park President John Winkler. “This wage increase is a demonstration of our commitment to being the employer of choice for central New Jersey,” he said.

Some positions will start at $15 per hour. Others will offer additional earning potential during certain shifts. The most significant wage increases will impact food and beverage operations, custodial services, security, shuttle drivers and lifeguards, according to Six Flags.

Candidates should apply online at www.sixflagsjobs.com.

Interested candidates will begin the process by completing an application online. All interviews, communication, and onboarding paperwork will be completed virtually. New this year, Six Flags Great Adventure will offer curbside drop-off for document verification.

Once offered a position, new team members will visit the Six Flags Employment Center with required documents and remain in their vehicle. They will call a phone number listed at their parking spot, and a Human Resources representative will pick up the documents from the car windows and process the paperwork. The applicant will then receive the processed documents along with a start date and training dates.
