SUTTONS BAY – The Inn at Black Star Farms is rolling out a couple new vacation packages this season. One is aimed at travelers who are able to work remotely and want to balance that with relaxing on an estate-sized vineyard with an award-winning winery, and hiking trails outside their door. The second package has lined up activities that are perfect for a winter adventure.
Sherri Campbell Fenton, managing owner, said the new offerings make sense, given the large number of people who are now able to work and study remotely. Travelers are invited to browse the available rooms online and use the promo code WORK when making a reservation.
“Choose from unique rooms, some with fireplaces, one with a large soaking tub in the Atlas room, or a suite with fireplace in Mira that also features a separate bedroom and kitchenette for those looking for an extended stay,” Fenton said.

Fat tire biking is part of the Winter Adventure Package at the Inn at Black Star Farms.
The new Winter Outdoor Adventure package is designed for those who want to balance their relaxation with fun outside activities. It combines fat tire biking with snowshoeing, a hot lunch and a ride back to the inn. According to the Inn at Black Star Farms, here are the details:
- Fat tire bikes will be ready for you at the back door of our Inn at 11:00 a.m.
- The adventure begins with a four-mile cycle along the groomed Leelanau Trail into Suttons Bay.
- Bike through the quaint village to Bahle Park, where you will warm up with some house-made chili and a hot beverage provided by our Hearth & Vine Café.
- After your break, strap on your snowshoes and head into the woods.
- When you have finished your wintry excursion, you will be transported back to the Inn where you can enjoy hospitality hour by the fire in the Pegasus Lounge.

Black Star Farms’ Suttons Bay location is also a good spot for winter day trips, whether you’re doing wine-tasting around the Leelanau Peninsula or taking advantage of the snowshoe rentals Black Star typically has on site during the winter weekends.
It’s just a short distance from the downtown shopping and restaurants in Suttons Bay, and a quick bayside road trip into Traverse City.
