Newton Restaurants Open On Thanksgiving

NEWTON, MA — This Thanksgiving is shaping up to be different from any other.

Many people are preparing to skip the travel this year to keep friends and loved ones safe by sticking to celebrating with their household, as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended. While some plan to get the turkey or vegan Tofurkey options and bake the pies regardless. Others are wondering if maybe they can use Thanksgiving to show gratitude to restaurants they’ve loved throughout the years and which are struggling right now.

The Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce got the idea to help make supporting local restaurants around Thanksgiving a bit easier, and put together a list of restaurants offering a special Thanksgiving menu.

Here’s a look at the options on the list from Newton:

Here’s the full list of restaurants that the chamber published.

More than 100,000 restaurants and bars across the states have closed for good because of the pandemic, resulting in some $240 billion in lost revenue, according to the National Restaurant Association in September.

The risk of getting the virus from handling food from restaurants is very low, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
