Cornerstone to host ‘Spring Fling Thing’ for children

Cornerstone Ministries will host a free children’s carnival, 4-6 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., May 14 at the church, 2200 Cornerstone Lane in Murrysville.

There will be carnival games, a kid-friendly escape room, balloon art, crafts, a kids’ train and a performance by an illusionist. Food will be available from local food trucks.

Children age 5 through fifth grade are invited to attend.

Registration is required, and can be done at CornerstoneKidsLive.net/fun-events.

The event will follow CDC guidelines for covid-19 prevention.

Opening of Grit & Grace in Export

Grit & Grace, a new retail store opening in Export, will host a grand opening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 24 at the store, 5847 Washington Ave.

Sharon Mitolo and Jeannie Oberdorf, of S&J Decorative Finishes, and Lori Kortze of Madeline Rose Boutique partnered to create the new store.

Murrysville Recreation Dept. to host ‘Ulysses S. Grant’

“Ulysses S. Grant,” in the form of professional living historian Ken Serfass, will give a digital version of his one-man performance on the life of the Civil War general and 18th U.S. president.

The program will take place at 6:30 p.m. May 7 on Zoom.
