The Nintendo Switch has been the bestselling video game console in the world for nearly two years straight, and social distancing has made the portable gaming system even more popular during 2020.

While the newly launched PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X are also in high demand, the Switch is much more likely to be in stock online and in-stores throughout

Black Friday
weekend and the rest of the holiday season. Major retailers, like GameStop, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and even Kohl’s, have promised to have $300 Switch bundles in stock on Black Friday, and many of Nintendo’s hit games are already on sale.

Below, we’ve compiled the best Black Friday deals on Nintendo Switch consoles, games, and accessories that we’ve found so far:

The Switch hasn’t seen significant discounts below its $300 price tag since its March 2017 release, and this year’s Black Friday sales will be no different. Shoppers can expect to find a $300 Switch bundle that includes a digital copy of “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” (normally $50 to $60) and a code for a three-month membership to the Nintendo Switch Online service (usually $8).

Unlike last year, the 2020 Black Friday “Mario Kart 8” bundle will feature the updated version of the Switch with improved battery life. GameStop will offer a second Switch bundle that comes with four collectible “Super Mario” glasses, but the “Mario Kart 8” bundle brings more value if you don’t already have the game, or a Switch Online membership.

The $200 Switch Lite is a cheaper alternative to the standard Switch, but it can’t be connected to TVs. While there aren’t any special Black Friday Deals, it could still be a good pick for young children or as a secondary Switch used for traveling.

This bundle includes Nintendo’s hit portable console with a digital copy of the most popular Switch game, “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.” Several retailers will have the bundle for $60 off during Black Friday sales.

Nintendo’s exclusive franchises, like “Super Mario,” “Pokémon,” and “The Legend of Zelda,” are the Switch’s main attraction, and you’ll find games from those series on sale at most major retailers during Black Friday weekend.

GameStop, Target, Walmart, and Best Buy are all offering $20 to $30 off games like “Super Mario Maker 2,” “Pokémon Let’s! Go Pikachu,” “Yoshi’s Crafted World,” and “Fire Emblem: Three Houses.” Prices will vary from game to game, but should be consistent between stores. Digital copies from the Nintendo eShop are available at Best Buy, Amazon, and GameStop, but typically cost $10 more than the physical copy.

The Black Friday discounts match the lowest prices we’ve seen for these $60 games to date, and GameStop is planning to drop the price on some of these games even further, down to $27, during the Black Friday weekend.

‘New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe’ reimagines Mario’s classic 2D platforming in a new adventure that allows up to four players to run courses together. This $35 price on the physical copy is the lowest we’ve ever seen. The digital copy will cost $5 more.

“Link’s Awakening” re-creates a classic Game Boy adventure with a new art style and cartoonish charm that will please old and new fans alike. This “Legend of Zelda” remake is one of several Nintendo games that are $20 off during Black Friday sales at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, and Target.

In “Super Mario Maker 2,” players can create and share their own outrageous courses for unlimited replay potential with up to four players. GameStop will have the game on sale for $20 off on Black Friday.

“Fire Emblem: Three Houses” is a turn-based war strategy game that encourages you to build relationships with your soldiers and master your tactics on the battlefield. The $30 price tag at GameStop is the lowest we’ve seen for the game so far.

When Mario and Princess Peach are kidnapped in a haunted hotel, it’s up to Luigi to face his fears and save the day in this ghost-busting adventure. This and several more Nintendo exclusives are $20 to $30 off during Black Friday sales at Amazon, GameStop, Target, Best Buy, and Walmart.

Splatoon” is Nintendo’s family-friendly online shooter, where players can customize their characters and team-up online in extreme paintball battles. Best Buy has discounted the game to $35, matching the lowest price we’ve seen for “Splatoon 2” to date.

The first Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch and a remake of the original Game Boy games, this entry is perfect for newbies and those who haven’t played Pokemon since 1998. “Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu” will be on sale for $30 at GameStop on Black Friday.

Other great Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals and gift ideas

If you can’t find the right game for the Switch player in your life, you can still buy a discounted digital gift card for them to add money to their Nintendo Switch eShop account. You can also buy a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, which is required to play most games online and offers dozens of classic games from the Nintendo and Super Nintendo consoles.

MicroSD cards will be on sale throughout Black Friday weekend too, so it’s a great time to upgrade your storage from the Switch’s internal 32GB. Make sure you get an SDXC grade card, since the MicroSD’s transfer speeds will impact loading times on the Switch.

While the Switch has two built-in Joy-Con controllers, picking up an extra for shared play sessions is never a bad idea. Both Switch Pro controllers and GameCube-style controllers used for “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” will see slight discounts during Black Friday. Online gamers can make use of a wired headset on the Switch, and those are on sale for up to 50% off at GameStop, Amazon, and other retailers.

A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to play most Switch games online, and it gives you access to dozens of classic Nintendo and Super Nintendo games on the Switch.

This SanDisk Ultra microSDXC card is a great option to expand the Nintendo Switch’s limited 32GB internal storage, and it’s reached its lowest price in 30 days during Amazon’s Black Friday sale.

The PowerA GameCube-style Wireless Controller looks and feels like the original, and doesn’t require an adapter to work with the Nintendo Switch. This sale price is usually available on Amazon, but it’s still a good deal compared to what you’ll find on Black Friday.
