Basket raffle to benefit kidney transplant patient
Export Floral will hold a basket raffle to benefit a former employee, Stacey McKay Campbell, who is in need of a second kidney transplant.
The basket is worth more than $275, and the winning ticket will be drawn Oct. 31.
Tickets can be purchased at the store, 5894 Washington Ave., in Export, for $5 each, three for $10, or ten for $20.

Woman’s club will host ‘Firefighters Christmas Brunch’
The Murrysville Woman’s Club will host a “Firefighters Christmas Brunch” at 10 a.m., Nov. 14 at the Lamplighter Restaurant, 6566 William Penn Highway in Salem.
The cost is $25 and includes a breakfast buffet. The event will also include baskets and a Chinese auction, with all proceeds to benefit local firefighters.

Local trunk-or-treat dates set
• Emmanuel Reformed United Church of Christ will host a trunk-or-treat event from 3 to 5 p.m., Oct. 24 at the church, 3618 Hills Church Road in Murrysville.

• Christian Life Church, 900 Seventh St. in Trafford, will host a trunk-or-treat and canned food drive from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 24 in the church parking lot. Those attending are encouraged to bring canned food for the food bank. Wear a costume and enjoy hot dogs, popcorn, games, candy and a hayride. Registration required for a one-hour time slot – either at 5 or 6 p.m. Register online at Mychristianlife.churchcenter.com.
Library will host car parade for ‘Queen of Storybooks’
The Murrysville Community Library will recognize retiring children’s services librarian Carol Siefken with an Oct. 24 car parade with a medieval theme celebrating Siefken as “The Queen of Storybooks.”
It will be at 2 p.m. in the library’s parking lot, 4130 Sardis Road in Murrysville.
Children are encouraged to make signs, decorate their cars and dress in costume. The library will also accept written memories and stories about Siefken, along with drawings and photos that will be included in a memory box.
Cards or letters can be sent to the library.
Library adds to ‘StoryWalk’
Murrysville Community Library staff have installed two additional stories to their “StoryWalk” along the wetlands trail at Murrysville Community Park.
Beginning at the Mayor Dorothy Pack Pavilion across from the park entrance on Wiestertown Road, families can walk along the trail while reading Kevin Lewis’ “The Runaway Pumpkin” and Louise Grieg and Julia Sarda’s “Sweep,” panel by panel.
Murrysville Community Park is at 4056 Wiestertown Road. “StoryWalk” is part of a partnership between the library and the Murrysville Recreation Department.

Delmont VFD hosting hoagie sale
The Delmont Volunteer Fire Department will host a hoagie sale on Oct. 31.
Hoagies are $7 each, and all proceeds will benefit the fire department.
Pre-orders will be accepted through Oct. 26, and will be available for pickup at 10 a.m. Place a pre-order by calling 724-689-5591.
The fire hall is at 2360 Route 66 in Delmont.
