A fun way to support local businesses | News, Sports, Jobs

One of the best ways to support our local economy is through the Chamber’s Chamber Bucks program. These checks help keep dollars right here in the Marshalltown area. Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions about the program:

Where can I use Chamber Bucks? Chamber Bucks are redeemable at any Chamber member business or organization. For a list of the many locations that accept Chamber Bucks, contact the Chamber office or visit the Chamber’s online business directory online at marshalltown.org. Besides making retail purchases, Chamber Bucks can also be used to make a donation to a participating non-profit organization or church, pay a utility bill, or buy admission to a favorite form of recreation.

What amounts do Chamber Bucks come in? You can get Chamber Bucks in $5, $10 and $25 increments.

Do Chamber Bucks expire? Chamber Bucks are good for one year after the date stamped on the check. But don’t toss them! Just bring them to the Chamber office where they can easily be renewed.

What happens if my purchase is less than total amount of the Chamber Bucks check? Chamber Bucks are just like cash. For purchases less than the amount of the Chamber Bucks, the merchant gives change. The merchant deposits Chamber Bucks just like a check and is given credit for the full amount.

Where do I purchase Chamber Bucks? Beginning on Friday, October 9, you can purchase Chamber Bucks at the Chamber’s temporary office in the lower level of Trinity Lutheran Church (1011 South 3rd Avenue). We encourage you to come to the southwest corner of the church for the Chamber office entrance. Hours are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays

8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

As we near the holiday season, please consider purchasing Chamber Bucks to support our local business community and keep dollars here!
