Dining at home in Dallas-Fort Worth is your safest option this holiday, but you can still support a local restaurant by letting them do the cooking.

Plan a night of dinner and dancing, even if it takes place in your living room. You’re the king or queen of your couch!

Spring for the caviar and the Champagne, and boogie until it’s 2021. It can’t come soon enough.

Asian Mint in Dallas and Richardson

Asian Mint’s holiday menu offers Thai dishes like curry-crab fried rice with soft shell crab for $25.95 and a noodle dish named khao soi chicken for $17.95. The $8 matcha parfait sounds festive: It has a coconut sesame cookie crust layered with matcha cheesecake mousse and white chocolate ganache. Asian Mint’s regular menu is also available on New Year’s Eve.

Blue Mesa Grill in Addison, Fort Worth and Plano

Six people can enjoy Blue Mesa’s to-go meal, which includes dinner as well as New Year’s Day brunch food. Dinner includes brisket, pork and tomatillo chicken tacos, plus black-eyed pea salad and cheese enchiladas. Brunch food includes migas, potatoes and French toast cajeta bread pudding. They’ll even toss in a bottle of bubbles and orange juice, all for $120.

Cantina Laredo in Addison and Frisco

The price is right at Cantina Laredo, where a three-course Tex-Mex dinner costs $35 per person. The takeout menu includes: choice of soup or salad; choice of rib-eye, carnitas or halibut; and choice of mixed berries and cream or churros with chocolate-raspberry sauce and Grand Marnier cajeta (caramel sauce). For an extra $10 per person, diners can take a cocktail to go. We’ve got our eye on the Sweet Heat Sipper, a tequila cocktail with ancho reyes chile liqueur, lime juice and Guava Reàl.

CityWorks Eatery & Pour Houses in Fort Worth and Frisco

Spring for the $28 filet medallions served with blue cheese mashed potatoes or the $22 short rib with grits and bacon-tomato jam at City Works. For an extra layer of fun, do some research on beer pairings and put together a beer flight at home. The bartenders at City Works would be happy to make suggestions.

CRÚ Food & Wine Bar in Allen, Dallas, Fort Worth and Plano

Since New Year’s Eve is all about excess, we’re loving the menu at CRÚ Food & Wine Bar. The $65 four-course menu at the restaurants in Dallas, Plano, Allen and Fort Worth starts with Osetra caviar. Fancy! Diners will then pick a starter from a list of five, including lobster bisque, crab gratin, or fontina and ricotta tortellini fonduta with truffle butter. Main course choices are an 8-ounce filet topped with lobster and crab; Chilean sea bass with asparagus and parmesan risotto; scallops with truffle whipped potatoes; or roasted rack of lamb. The dinner ends with molten chocolate lava cake, crème brûlée or tiramisu.

Flying Saucer in Dallas, Fort Worth and Garland

The Flying Saucer’s New Year’s Eve kit has everything you need and nothing that you don’t. For $35, customers get six beers, a meat and cheese board that feeds two to three people, and some New Year’s Eve party favors. Easy and affordable.

Georgie Butcher Shop in Dallas

The word is already out in the Park Cities: Fine-dining restaurant Georgie is selling its salads, meats and sides from a small side shop in Travis Walk, and they make for a great eat-at-home feast. On New Year’s Eve, the shop will sell caviar kits and charcuterie boards. But if you’re going for glam on this holiday, opt for the ultimate New Year’s Eve beef dish: peppercorn-crusted Akaushi prime rib, priced $90 to $300 depending on portion sizes.

Knife in Dallas and Plano

Choose your adventure: Are you looking for a decadent burger from Knife Burger in Plano, or would you rather a pricier cut of beef from Knife Steakhouse, which has locations in Dallas or Plano? All three restaurants are serving a la carte dinners on New Year’s Eve. Knife Burger is extremely affordable, with the famous Ozersky cheeseburger starting at just $5.95. (It’s $10 for the double.) Snag a cookie butter or chocolate shake for just $4 each. At Knife Steakhouse, options range from a $16 bacon tasting to a 240-day dry-aged Akaushi rib-eye for $220. Or splurge on chef John Tesar’s fresh pastas, like squid ink spaghetti, $44. Big spenders can pair their orders with a bottle of Bollinger R.D. Brut for $550 for the ultimate stay-at-home steak night. (That wine is available in Dallas only.)

Mendocino Farms in downtown Dallas

So you’d rather eat a sandwich called the Black Tie Turkey Club than put on a tux or a ball gown. Fair enough. Mendocino Farms is selling its seasonal Black Tie Turkey Club sandwich for $11.45. It comes with roasted turkey breast, bacon, havarti, white truffle aioli, picked red onions and arugula on a garlic-butter toasted brioche bun.

How about a margarita at midnight instead of a glass of bubbles? Miriam Cocina Latina, a Mexican restaurant overlooking Klyde Warren Park, is offering curbside pickup on New Year’s Eve. Their $40 Casa Noble margarita kit includes Casa Noble Tequila, Grand Marnier and Miriam’s signature marg mix, plus lime and orange for squeezing. Diners can take home a $55-per-person dinner that includes appetizer, salad, entree and dessert. Spring for the blue cheese solomillo — a filet — to make the evening feel extra glammy.

Uptown Dallas steakhouse Morton’s is serving one of the sexiest steaks on this list. They’ve got a $59 filet fancied up with lobster Oscar on top. It’s available to-go, with any of the restaurant’s a la carte menu items. If you’re picking up dinner for two, opt for the three-course dinner with salad, Chateaubriand for two, black truffle mashed cauliflower, creamed spinach, sour cream mashed potatoes and flourless chocolate cake for $75 per person.

This new Nashville hot chicken restaurant in East Dallas is selling its spicy, fried chicken, catfish and shrimp for a fiery end to 2020. But there’s a more pertinent reason why we’re including Palmer’s Hot Chicken on this list: frosé. Order their pink drink for $60 a gallon; it’s a sassy way to say “bye” to 2020. If you’re not a frosé fan, go for the paloma, ranch water or basil cucumber collins. They’re all good.

Sea Breeze Fish Market & Grill in Plano

Picture it: You’ve got the TV on, waiting for the ball to drop, and you’ve got a plastic bib hanging around your neck as you try not to make a mess cracking crab claws. Sea Breeze is selling to-go food as well as larger seafood platters of all kinds: poached salmon, cocktail shrimp, crab cakes, shucked oysters and even lobster rolls. Spring for the lobster mac and cheese just for fun.

Second Floor at The Exchange in downtown Dallas

Two new downtown Dallas restaurants, Ounce and Ichi Ni San, are partnering up on their New Year’s Eve specials. They’re selling a $495 package with high-end offerings: a bottle of Veuve Clicquot bubbles, a bottle of Borgo Scopeto Super Tuscan red wine, caviar, a 16-ounce 42-day dry aged New York strip with bordelaise, chocolate truffles, New Year’s Eve party favors and a $50 gift card for the Second Floor at The Exchange. The Second Floor at the Exchange is the nickname for both restaurants because they reside on the second floor of a new development called the AT&T Discovery District, on AT&T’s campus.

Silver Fox in Fort Worth and Richardson, III Forks in Frisco

Go all out with curbside dinner from III Forks or Silver Fox. They’re serving identical menus — a $250-per-couple splurge, but it’ll look like a million bucks spread out on your dining room table, especially since it comes with a bottle of Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs. The first course is a salad with Granny Smith apple, blue cheese, toasted pecans and vinaigrette; the second course is two 6-ounce filets with two 6-ounce lobster tails, served with whipped potatoes and asparagus; and the third course is a six-layer chocolate ganache cake.

Sixty Vines in Uptown Dallas or Plano

Want to have a bougie picnic? Turn to Sixty Vines for a $150 kit filled with New Year’s Eve treats. There’s salami and cheese, steak, shrimp, one side, and Deviled Affogato for dessert. (That’s a slice of devil’s food cake and a scoop of salted caramel ice cream doused in coffee caramel syrup and a shot of nitro cold brew. You need to stay awake until midnight, and that ought to do it!) Each kit also comes with a 375-milliliter bottle of Luc Belaire Rosé, a 375-milliliter Taittinger “La Francaise” Brut, a link to a New Year’s Eve Spotify playlist, sparklers and a confetti popper. When you order to-go at Sloane’s Corner, you get “gifts” to take home: party hats and horns to ring in the New Year. So far so good. Their three-course NYE dinner starts at $98 per person and includes choice of tuna tartare, endive salad or oxtail angolotti; a hearty main of roasted halibut, rib-eye, stuffed chicken or scallops; and a sweet end with a gold chocolate bar with Nutella, coconut panna cotta or hibiscus baked Alaska. Spring for indulgent add-ons like black truffle risotto, an extra $28, or caviar with avocado sorbet and pistachio oil, an extra $54. The $98 price includes a mini bottle of Chandon Brut.

TJ’s Seafood Market in Dallas

TJ’s Seafood Market is one of the few businesses that will deliver seafood platters on New Year’s Eve. (The cost is $55.) If you’re planning a feast, look to the catering menu for options like a miso and honey seared tuna platter or a tray of beef tenderloin sliders served with creamy horseradish and mustard sauce. The Hackleback caviar and blinis platter might be just right for a glitzy evening. TJ’s is also selling its smaller takeout menus with individual meals: salmon with roasted Brussels sprouts, lobster rolls, gumbo and more. Don’t forget the wine.

12 Cuts Brazilian Steakhouse in Far North Dallas

While a plate full of meat from a Brazilian steakhouse is certainly indulgent, takeout dinner at 12 Cuts in Far North Dallas isn’t exceptionally expensive. Dinner for three people costs just $75 and includes four courses: cheese bread and empanadas, salad, grilled bone-in pork chops and veggies, and chocolate cake or flan. Customers can tack on caipirinhas, martinis or margaritas for an extra fee. The restaurant is owned by a Dallas family, the de Contos, who opened their South American restaurant in August 2019.
