We love subscription boxes—and why wouldn’t we? If you find the right subscription service for you, you can sign up to receive perfectly tailored and surprising gifts every single month. There’s a subscription service out there for just about every interest and lifestyle under the sun. And if you know me, you’re probably also aware that my interests and lifestyle are pretty much dominated by my cats.

Subscription boxes for you and your pets are on the rise, and it makes sense! I’m already a huge fan of Chewy’s scheduled deliveries of litter and food, but that’s just the tip of the cat subscription iceberg (note: sadly, you cannot subscribe for a monthly delivery of cats). We’ve already checked out the best subscription services for dogs, but I took a look at some of the most popular cat-themed subscription boxes available right now.

1. Litterbox, for a well-rounded subscription box that satisfies both you and your kitty

Litterbox offers more than litter, but its grooming and cleaning products will keep your home and kitty smelling fresh.

Don’t let the name fool you: Litterbox offers much more than litter supplies. Each monthly box comes with six to eight unique, hand-chosen items, ranging from toys and catnip to water-free cleanser and odor removers. Litterbox also boasts free shipping within the contiguous United States, and an easy cancellation process (if you’ve ever struggled to cancel a subscription online, you know this can be a big deal).

This well-rounded box hits all the basics, including items for your cat’s entertainment and general wellness. It’s also a hit with reviewers. Our managing editor Kate Ellsworth tried the Litterbox subscription and said her cats went crazy for it. “I still hear my cats playing with the large fish toy in the middle of the night. The fact that they still play with toys they got months ago says a lot about the quality of the box—my cats get bored with toys after a few days, so it’s great that these can stick around and still get use.”

2. Goody Box, for reliably great products

This one’s not quite a subscription box, but it is a curated box of treats, toys, and more made specifically for your cat. You’ll get the same assortment of goods every time you purchase the box, but our writer Camryn Rabideau thought it was a worthwhile investment. She reviewed the Goody Box and described it as purr-fect, noting, “overall, it was a really fun purchase, and I’d definitely buy Nugget another Goody Box—maybe for his birthday or Christmas! Everything in the box was high-quality, and it was worth it to see Nugget playing like he was a kitten again.”

If you don’t want to buy the same box every month, you can check out the Goody Box varieties Chewy has on its site, which include a Birthday Box and a new Halloween Box. Based on the fact that Chewy has released a Halloween-themed box, we expect the retailer to release a holiday-themed one, as well.

3. CatLadyBox, to showcase your cat mom pride

This is your box if you're ready to fully embrace the cat lady lifestyle.
This is your box if you’re ready to fully embrace the cat lady lifestyle.

Here’s a subscription box that really has its niche cornered. CatLadyBox offers goodies to delight kitties and the ladies who really, really love them. The company says their goal is to reclaim the “crazy cat lady” moniker, embracing cat lady status with the help of t-shirts, kitchenware, jewelry, and quirky cat-themed accessories. The box markets itself toward women, but I personally believe “cat lady” is a state of mind that transcends gender.

CatLady offers two boxes: the CatLadyBox for $34.99/month, which comes exclusively with wares for you; and the Crazy CatLadyBox, which comes with three to four items for you, and two items for your cat. Shipping is free in the US, and boxes can also be shipped to Canada or the UK for an extra fee. If you’re interested in shopping individual items, or want a better idea of the kind of thing your box might include, take a look at CatLadyBox’s store—or check out their delightful Facebook page, where subscribers share photos of their kitties enjoying the goods. One satisfied subscriber writes, “We got our box yesterday and Buttons was so excited he climbed right in while it was still on my lap!! The catnip in the toys was very strong!”

4. KitNipBox, for reliable quality and great value

KitNipBox is one of the most beloved cat subscription services right now, and its fans aren't going anywhere.
KitNipBox is one of the most beloved cat subscription services right now, and its fans aren’t going anywhere.

KitNipBox is one of the most popular cat-themed subscription boxes available right now. This one is aimed squarely at the cats themselves, focusing on evergreen items like toys, natural treats and food, and catnip. KitNipBox is thoughtfully customizable—if you prefer to carefully control your kitty’s diet, you can opt to skip all food items. Don’t worry, they will be replaced with extra, non-edible goodies!

Each box is themed, with past concepts including “fast food” and “pirates.” No matter the theme, fans say you can count on this box to deliver high-quality toys and treats. That’s no small thing, when you consider that this is also one of the most affordable cat subscription boxes we could find. Like CatLadyBox, KitNipBox has an absolutely adorable Facebook page full of videos of happy furry customers. “My fur kids Rosie & Raisin loved their box this month!” one (human) subscriber writes. “Truth be told, I look forward to this too!”

5. Meowbox, for the elite cat who prefers shopping exclusive lines

Meowbox is another fan favorite, with its own set of devoted followers. Like KitNipBox, Meowbox organizes boxes of cat toys and treats around adorable monthly themes. They include a minimum of five items in every box, also of the toys-n-treats variety. While Meowbox and KitNipBox have a lot in common, Meowbox differentiates itself in one important way—all of the included toys are manufactured exclusively for the company. If the goodies in Meowbox strike your cat’s fancy, subscribing is the best way to get their new and unique toys.

Happy fans say that Meowbox is top tier when it comes to high-quality, cat-approved toys. Subscriber Emily writes on Meowbox’s Facebook page, “Ginger looooved this box! She’s definitely learned that these packages are from her. Like, on SIGHT—even before I set it down on the floor/it’s close enough for her to smell it, she starts weaving in and out of my feet and meowing in anticipation.”

6. VetPetBox, for fun that puts your kitty’s health first

Say this five times fast: VetPetBox is vetted by vets.
Say this five times fast: VetPetBox is vetted by vets.

Always have your kitty’s health at the forefront of your mind? VetPetBox is the subscription for you. Like other boxes on this list, the VetPetBox comes with a carefully picked monthly selection of toys, edible treats, and grooming supplies. What really sets it aside, though, is that each item has been chosen and approved by professional veterinarians. Every aspect of this box is assessed for health and safety, along with fun.

Since this box is so carefully put together, it’s not surprising that it’s also one of the most customizable options on this list. During the signup process, you can give information about your kitty’s health, age, and anxiety level. VetPetBox will use this information to make sure your box is perfect for your kitty’s needs. Each box also comes with reading material about a new topic relating to animal health, so you can become a better, more educated companion to your furry friend. Alina P is one happy subscriber, writing that this is “the best pet box I have ever received! l love everything in here, toys, treats, and new things to try!”

7. Kaause, for the chic cat who’s into wearable goods

Not every cat tolerates a harness or collar, but if they do, Kaause will have them looking sharp.
Not every cat tolerates a harness or collar, but if they do, Kaause will have them looking sharp.

Do you share a home with a fashionable feline? They might love a subscription from Kaause, a Canadian pet accessory boutique. Kaause’s catalog boasts beautiful handcrafted collars, bandanas, harnesses, and leashes. Their bi-monthly subscription box isn’t limited to wearable items, though—you can expect plenty of other products and treats for your kitty to enjoy.

Charitable giving is also a major part of Kaause’s mission. When you sign up for the subscription box, you can choose which charity you would like your subscription to support (currently Single Moms In Progress and an animal rescue organization serving Ontario and Quebec). This subscription is a great way to support a small business with an ethical mission. Fans of Kaause love the soft, durable construction of their products, so you can count on getting some real keepsakes from this box.

Think of it as a monthly donation with some great perks.
Think of it as a monthly donation with some great perks.

If you’re looking for a subscription box that gives back to animal welfare, look no farther. Rescue Box lives up to its name. It’s funded by the Animal Rescue Site, and for every subscription, they donate pet food and vaccinations to local animal shelters. Each box comes with five to six fun items for your kitty to enjoy (although reviewers mention that if you sign up for a discounted trial box, you can expect to start with only two or three).

True to their values, every RescueBox also includes stories and testimonials from the shelters and animal welfare organizations that they’ve helped. Whether you’re looking for a gift for a cat-lover, or putting a charitable spin on your own pet supplies, this is a fun way to help kitties in need.

9. Cat Sticker Club, to advertise your kitty devotion in all its quirky glory

I have never been more obsessed with the concept behind a subscription service.
I have never been more obsessed with the concept behind a subscription service.

Cat Sticker Club knows who its audience is—not cats, but their enthusiastic fans. Each month, they send subscribers totally unique cat-themed stickers created by cool artists to liven up your Nalgene or laptop case. The art styles are diverse and fantastically funky. Check out their Instagram for sticker inspo!

The great thing about this subscription service is that you don’t need to share space with a cat in order to enjoy it. Maybe you love cats but you can’t adopt right now. Maybe you’re looking for somehow who is currently tragically separated from their feline friend due to school, travel, or quarantine. Whatever the reason, this is a subscription service that offers something silly, sweet, and fun every month. Like many of the services on this list, Cat Sticker Club is also committed to giving back, with 10% of all profits going toward cat-related charities and sanctuaries. You can shop their back catalogue, or subscribe internationally for under $5 a month.
